A song of ascents. Of Yvonee.
If the Lord had not been on my side, let Yvonee say;
If the Lord had not been on my side
when I sit for my exams,
I would have failed terribly.
If the Lord had not been on my side
when I return home from school,
I would have become a victim to crime.
If the Lord had not been on my side
when I needed comfort,
I would have died early.
If the Lord had not been on my side
when I'm facing my darkest moments,
I wouldn't be who I am today.
My help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
